The Water Witch Club is one of the most unique wedding venues we have come across and photographed at in NJ. After driving up windy dirt roads in Atlantic Highlands you come across a charming building built in the very early 1900s located at one of the highest points on the entire Atlantic Seaboard. It is full of interesting little nooks and crannies for guests (and photographers) to explore and the courtyard overlooks the Sandy Hook Bay and Atlantic Ocean making it the perfect spot for a ceremony!
But we began this day at the brides parents beautiful victorian house down the road in Red Bank to capture all the candid getting ready moments of the bride and bridesmaids. We love the photos from this more relaxed atmosphere where everyone just wanted to hang out and have a good time while preparing for the day ahead. But before the ceremony we made our way Deep Cut Gardens in Middleton for the first look! We love that the couple decided to take a moment and read notes that they had written to each other right after the initial reveal. The grounds of the garden were as beautiful as always for all of the couples and bridal party portraits with fields of flowers, greenhouses, and giant trees all making for amazing spots.
We then finally headed up those dirt roads to the Water Witch Club itself for the final preparations before the ceremony! With friends and family all spread around the courtyard on various benches it gave a very intimate feel as the couple exchange vows, rings, and a kiss. The cocktail hour and reception was split between the inside of the club and the various porches which allowed everyone to explore and mingle all throughout the grounds as opposed to being stuck at their tables. As much as we enjoyed photographing all the big moments with the entrances, toasts, and dances in this unique ballroom we had just as much fun just capturing everyone having a great time throughout the night.
With so many photographs from this day, we had a hard time picking just a handful for below and hope you enjoy scrolling through them. If you want to see more and ar elooking for a photographer for your wedding in New Jersey, Contact Us for more information and to set up a time to chat!
