This rustic wedding day took place amongst some of New Jerseys most beautiful preserved farm lands located deep within Monmouth County. We met Mary at the Peacefields Inn in the midst of hair and makeup and deep in thought about the wedding day to come. Built in 1850, the Inn was full of historical touches and antique furniture that made for one of a kind photos as she put on her dress, jewelry, and shoes with the help of every bridesmaid at once. Meanwhile, Jarrett was at his childhood home in Allentown, NJ surrounded by friends, family, and dog preparing for the wedding day ahead. As soon as the groomsmen arrived at the Inn, an emotional first look led directly into a private reading of the vows on the grounds of the inn that we captured from a distance.
The ceremony was just a short walk across a field at the Historic Walnford Park which is full of buildings from its history as a working farm with a Grist Mill, Carriage House, and old family home making up a courtyard where guests were seated. After the couple took a deep breaths and let the moment sink in, the ceremony began with a Chinese tea tradition for both the parents of bride and groom. Vows and rings were exchanged during an emotional ceremony and the couple made the marriage official with their first kiss to the cheers and tears of everyone in attendance. Afterwards, we explored the grounds of the park with the bridal party and captured many beautiful photos of the couple along with a few less serious moments with the bridal party.
Everyone then made their way to the cocktail hour and reception at Jarrett’s family home in Allentown. It was clear everyone had an amazing time partying and just enjoying the scenery as we photographed many amazing moments during the dances, toasts, and cake cutting. In a moment we have never seen before; brothers, uncles and cousins brought of guitars and keyboards out of the home for an impromptu Phish and Billy Joel crossover concert with bride, groom, and guests all taking part in singing. The love between both Jarrett and Mary was clear every step of this beautiful day and we wish them the best at many Phish concert dates to come.
