A national park located just north of Sea Bright and Atlantic Highlands, it is always one of our favorite beach style spots to recommend for those who like a more natural look to the, equally interesting but different, boardwalks and beach-side towns. There are natural beaches that extend into the bay with tall wild grasses, a light house, and the many rustic buildings and corridors covered in Ivy unlike any others from when a military base stood on this (almost) island in WW2. The park and beaches are beautiful any time of year – summer, spring, fall, or winter since the beaches and architecture don’t depend on the perfect leaves or flowers to look great. We can’t wait to photograph this couples wedding next year at the Chauncey in Princeton!
Sandy Hook does not require a permit or entrance fee during the off season and parking is easy. During the summer, weekends may be busy! The park is open sunrise to sunset year round which gives us the opportunity to meet at just the right time for amazing lighting at any time throughout the year.
