Every year we photograph weddings from a wide variety of cultures and customs and this wedding was no different! It was an otherwise traditional Indian wedding but with a western ceremony at a Catholic Church on the day of the reception. We photographed the Hindi ceremony the day prior and then arrived again this day to capture the Catholic Ceremony and huge reception at the Marigold in Somerset, NJ.

As we began on the second day, we focused on capturing the many candid moments of bride getting ready at her childhood home and the groom with his friends and brothers at the hotel. After a few small traditions with family, all made their way to the Queenship of Mary Church for this wedding in Plainsboro. After the ceremony was completed and everyone said their congratulations, we captured both bridal party photos and portraits of the newlywed bride and groom at Princeton University. Princeton is always one of our favorite places to photograph – almost every spot is beautiful and there’s a ton of variety within a short walk. At the Marigold, the traditional entrances but the first dances quickly turned into performances with the couple, mother, father, and then bridesmaids as they reenacted how the couple had originally met! The room was even complete with floor to ceiling sparklers that shot into the air during the big moments. After cake cutting, the dance floor was packed as the buffet dinner was served with everyone in the room having an absolute blast.

This was a wedding day taking place all over Mercer County but it was an absolute joy to capture this beautiful couple together!
